Our Process
From the initial conversation through final completion, our process is designed to provide a clear, organized path for developing your fortified home, bunker, shelter, or hardened structure. Every project is unique, so we work closely with our clients to understand their goals, evaluate their requirements, and develop a solution tailored to their property, budget, and vision.
01. Initial Consultation & Feasibility
Every project begins with a conversation. During the initial consultation, we take the time to understand your goals, intended use, desired level of protection, budget considerations, timeline, and property requirements. We discuss the type of structure you are considering—whether it is a fortified home, underground bunker, bomb shelter, secure compound, or another specialized hardened structure.
We then begin evaluating the overall feasibility of the project, including potential site conditions, location, access, utilities, environmental considerations, permitting requirements, and preliminary construction challenges. This early stage helps establish a realistic foundation and identify the best path forward before significant resources are committed to design and construction.
02. Design & Planning
Once the project objectives and feasibility have been established, we move into the design and planning phase. Our team works with you to develop the overall concept, layout, systems, and features required to support the intended use of the structure.
Depending on the project, this process may include architectural design, structural engineering coordination, site layout, mechanical and electrical planning, energy and utility systems, ventilation and filtration, water and wastewater solutions, security features, and specialized protective requirements.
The goal is to bring all of the critical elements together into a coordinated plan that balances protection, functionality, aesthetics, constructability, and budget.
03. Construction & Implementation
With the planning and design process complete, the project moves into construction and implementation. Our team coordinates the construction process, working with qualified contractors, engineers, specialty vendors, and project partners to bring the approved design to life.
Throughout construction, we focus on project coordination, quality, schedule, budget, and the proper integration of the specialized systems that make each structure unique. For projects outside our immediate construction area, we can also work alongside qualified local contractors who manage day-to-day construction activities while benefiting from the specialized knowledge and experience of Montana Panel Works.
Our objective is to provide clients with a well-managed construction process and a finished structure that performs as intended.
04. Completion & Move-In
As construction nears completion, we conduct the final coordination necessary to prepare the structure and its systems for occupancy and operation. This may include final inspections, system testing, equipment and utility coordination, project walkthroughs, and the completion of remaining construction items.
Once the project is complete, the focus shifts to helping ensure that the client understands the operation and capabilities of their new home, bunker, shelter, or hardened structure. Our goal is to deliver more than a completed building—we strive to provide a finished environment designed to support your family, operations, and long-term peace of mind.
From concept to completion, Montana Panel Works provides the experience, planning, and specialized expertise needed to bring complex fortified and resilient structures to life.
